Residents in the County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 will see an increase in their utility bills for essential services. Effective March 1, 2026, the local government has raised fees for water, sewer, and trash services by 4%.
The County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 is making this change to move toward a full user-pay model. This strategy ensures that people who use these services pay for the costs of running them and for future capital costs, such as construction and maintenance projects.
While the new rates started at the beginning of March, the higher costs will not appear on bills immediately. Residents will see the updated charges on the next utility invoice at the end of April 2026.
Local officials also reminded the community that unpaid bills will be charged a penalty. Any outstanding balances on utility accounts are subject to a 3% penalty each month.
