The City of Waterloo, Ontario, is looking for 20 local artists and creators to take part in the upcoming Open Streets Art Market. The event will take place on June 13, 2026, from noon to 6 p.m. at Waterloo Public Square and Willis Way.
Interested creators have until March 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. to submit their applications for a spot on Willis Way. This market gives local vendors a chance to show and sell their work to thousands of people in a busy public setting.
The Open Streets event is free for all ages and turns downtown roads into spaces for people instead of cars. It includes live music, art, and games to encourage residents to walk around and enjoy the uptown area.
By closing the streets to vehicles, the city aims to create a family-friendly environment where neighbours can gather and interact. The project involves the Uptown Waterloo Business Improvement Area to help bring more foot traffic to local businesses and shops.
