The 33rd Annual Pete’s Pub Shamrock Shuffle raised $1,670 to support local animal welfare in the Saint John and Quispamsis region on Sunday. The community event, held in Saint John, collected funds for Red Head Strays Helping Stray Cats Strut, a local organization that rescues and re-homes stray cats.
Several community members took part in the fundraiser, including Pete Ferguson, Katherine Ferguson, and Alex Coffin. The money will help cover the costs of veterinary care and daily supplies for animals currently in foster homes.
As a registered Canadian charity, Red Head Strays Helping Stray Cats Strut operates a foster-based program throughout the Quispamsis and Saint John area. The volunteer-run group focuses on helping abandoned or lost cats find permanent homes through their adoption network.
