Public health officials declared a respiratory outbreak at the Lee Manor long-term care home in Owen Sound, Ontario, on March 10, 2026. Four residents in the building’s 3 South wing are currently showing symptoms and have been placed in isolation while staff wait for medical test results.
The County of Grey, which operates the home, has put new safety rules in place to stop the sickness from spreading. All staff and visitors entering the affected area must now wear surgical masks at all times.
To protect residents, the facility is also limiting the number of people who can visit. Only one designated care partner is allowed per resident visit for those living in the 3 South wing.
While the outbreak is currently limited to one part of the building, health officials are asking general visitors to hold off on visiting that area for now. Staff are monitoring residents for symptoms and are working with public health partners to manage the situation.
