A 28-year-old Owen Sound resident is in custody facing more than 13 charges after police seized five illegal firearms and roughly $20,000 worth of suspected drugs during an intimate partner violence investigation.
The investigation began on September 11, 2026, when Owen Sound Police Service responded to a domestic violence call, which led to a search warrant at a residence. Officers found five illegal firearms, ammunition, 137 grams of cocaine, about 2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 142 ecstasy tablets, $1,300 in cash, and a cell phone.
The accused faces charges including assault, assault causing bodily harm, sexual assault, five counts of assault with a weapon, possession of cocaine and ecstasy for trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.
Police say the seizure removes a significant risk from the community. Domestic violence situations involving firearms are particularly dangerous, and the combination of weapons and drugs here made this an especially volatile case.
The Owen Sound Police Service has been increasing drug enforcement efforts in 2026, as part of a broader push to address community safety concerns.
