The Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library will host its third annual Local Author Book Fair on Friday October 23 and Saturday October 24, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm each day. The free event takes place at the library, located at 824 1st Ave, W., Owen Sound.

The fair brings together authors with ties to Grey and Bruce Counties. To be invited, writers must live in Grey-Bruce now, have lived there before, or have written a book about the region. The library’s Local Author and Grey-Bruce Connection collection already includes more than 600 works by local writers.

Visitors can meet authors, purchase their books, play a library-themed Plinko game, and enter prize draws. The event has grown from over 40 authors in 2024 to 47 in 2025. Organizer and library information resource specialist Shauna Doyle said the fair helps build community connections between readers and local talent.

The fair is open to everyone at the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library. No admission fee is required.
