The Town of Hanover, Ontario, has released new details for its downtown revitalization project and extended the deadline for residents to provide feedback until March 27, 2026. This extension gives property owners and locals more time to complete a community questionnaire that will help decide the future look and feel of the town core.
As part of the update, the town launched a new podcast titled Place Matters – Conversations on the Downtown Hanover Plan to keep the community informed about the design process. A graphic vision board was also released, which summarizes the suggestions and ideas residents shared during a previous event called the Idea Jam.
The Hanover Downtown Improvement Area covers the section of town from 6th Avenue along 10th Street to 14th Street and has been managed by the community since 1977. The Town Council and the Downtown Revitalization Implementation Committee are leading the current project to turn these community ideas into a long-term plan for local shops and public spaces.
A group of Community Connectors is handling outreach to make sure as many people as possible participate in the planning. The feedback gathered by March 27, 2026, will be used to guide how both private buildings and public areas are developed in the years to come.
