Residents in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, are preparing for a shift back to winter weather as a snowstorm is expected to bring up to 10 centimetres of accumulation starting late Friday, March 20, 2026.
According to Environment Canada, the snow is forecasted to begin late Friday night and end after midnight. The community can expect between 5 to 10 centimetres of snow to settle on the ground by Saturday morning.
The weather agency reports that east winds will reach 20 kilometres per hour, with gusts as high as 40 kilometres per hour. Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of -5°C overnight, though wind chill values will make it feel closer to -12°C.
As of Friday morning, there are no official weather alerts in effect for the city. However, the combination of new snow and freezing temperatures may result in slippery roads for those travelling over the weekend.
