HyLife is hosting a recruitment event on March 24, 2026, to find new employees for its pork processing plant in Neepawa, Manitoba. The event will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the facility located at 623 Main Street E, where residents can learn about open roles with the town’s largest employer.
The company is looking to hire production workers and meat cutters with starting wages of $16.45 per hour. These positions include full benefits and attendance bonuses, with the potential for wages to grow to $24.60 per hour as employees gain experience in the facility.
Since 2008, the plant has grown from 350 workers to more than 1,700 staff members. According to the Town of Neepawa, this expansion helped the community become one of the fastest-growing areas in Canada, with the local population increasing by 23 per cent between 2016 and 2021. Many employees have moved to the region through international recruitment programs, and about 70 per cent of the current workforce identifies as Filipino.
The local pork industry is a major part of the regional economy, contributing approximately $2.3 billion to the province every year. Information from the Manitoba Pork organization shows that the sector supports thousands of jobs, though it often faces challenges finding enough workers to meet production needs.
