The Dance Evolution festival returns to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, from March 27 to March 29, 2026. Hosted at the Shell Theatre, the three-day competition features performers of all ages and skill levels from across Western Canada.
This marks the second year in a row that the competition has come to the city following a successful event in 2025. Performers from recreational and competitive studios will showcase their talents in categories ranging from solo acts to large groups.
The festival is organized by Fabulous Feet Productions, a company currently celebrating its 26th season of hosting events. Founder Gail Levoir-Bartelen established the business in 2000 after decades of experience running dance studios across Canada.
During the competition, professional judges provide video and on-stage feedback to dancers every 45 minutes. Information from the Alberta Dance Alliance notes that every participant is awarded a medal, with special trophies and scholarships available for the highest scores.
The event highlights a busy local arts scene that includes long-standing studios like Dance Moves 3 and dance at Brijets. Fort Saskatchewan is one of several stops on the tour this year, which also visits Bearspaw and Lethbridge.
