Residents of Beausejour, Manitoba, have a new opportunity to shop locally and support small businesses with an upcoming craft and trade show. The event will take place at the Breezy Oaks Inn & Tavern (formerly the Superior Inn & Conference Centre), located at 1055 Park Avenue directly across from the local Tim Hortons. The market will be open to the public from 11am to 3pm.
This event adds to the community’s long history of hosting markets. Beausejour, a town of 3,307 people situated 46 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, is well-known for its support of local vendors. The Rural Municipality of Brokenhead supports craft and trade shows as part of its community programming to help boost the local economy. These markets are a staple for the area, which serves as a central hub for surrounding farmers and visitors heading toward Whiteshell Provincial Park.
Local organizations, including the Beausejour & District Chamber of Commerce and the Beausejour Brokenhead Development Corporation, continue to focus on supporting local entrepreneurs. These groups help maintain the town’s active calendar of events on Park Avenue, which is also home to popular community gatherings like the Shades of the Past car show and the festive Christmas on Park celebration.
While the town is widely recognized for its annual Beausejour Christmas Craft (Trade) Show and Sale held each November at the Brokenhead River Community Hall, this new event offers another way for residents to connect with local makers and businesses throughout the year.
