The Hanover Police Service is investigating a series of vandalism incidents that occurred in northeast subdivisions on the night of Sunday, March 29, 2026. Unknown individuals were reported kicking residential doors and setting off fireworks, prompting local authorities to seek the public’s help in identifying those responsible.
Police believe these actions are connected to a social media trend known as the Door Kick Challenge, which has circulated on platforms like TikTok. The challenge typically involves participants filming themselves hitting strangers’ doors and running away, often while playing specific music. The Ontario Provincial Police has previously issued warnings regarding the dangers and criminal nature of this activity.
No suspects have been identified by police at this time. Under the direction of Chief Christopher Knoll, officers are continuing to look for at least one individual involved in the incidents.
Residents with information are encouraged to contact the Hanover Police Service at 519-364-2411. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
