The Camrose County Economic Development Team has officially recognized Battle River Brewery for its contributions to the local economy by providing a business startup grant. Located at 4720A 37 Street in Camrose, Alberta, the craft brewery is among the newer businesses supported by the county through its funding program for companies under three years old.
Owner Ryan Pearson, who was raised on a farm in Central Alberta and previously worked in the steel industry, established the brewery as a passion project. The business, also known as Battle River Beer Co., has previously received municipal assistance through a Facade Improvement Grant. That funding was used to install a distinctive stone entrance sign at the brewery, which was crafted by a local artisan.
The brewery is part of a growing community of beverage producers in the region, which includes the Norsemen Brewing Company, True North Cider, and Back 40 Distillery.
Entrepreneurs looking for similar support should note that the Camrose County Business Start Up Grant is currently fully allocated for 2026. According to the county, the application intake will not reopen until the spring of 2027. However, the City of Camrose is set to accept new applications for its own small business facade improvement grants beginning in April 2026.
