Neepawa Titans prospect Gavin Quennelle is heading to Regina, Saskatchewan, this week to compete for a spot in the national hockey championship. Quennelle, a 17-year-old forward, is playing with the Winnipeg Bruins at the Telus Cup West Regionals, which run from April 2 to April 5, 2026, at the Cooperators Centre.
The tournament features four teams battling for a single position at the Telus Cup, which will take place in Peterborough, Ontario, from April 20 to April 26, 2026. Along with the Winnipeg Bruins, the regional competition includes the host Regina Pat Canadians, the Moose Jaw Warriors, and the Thunder Bay Kings.
The Neepawa Titans organization publicly shared their support for the prospect on social media, wishing him and his Winnipeg teammates well as they represent Manitoba. The Winnipeg Bruins enter the regional tournament following a dominant season, finishing with a 42-3-3 record and an undefeated 9-0 run through their playoffs.
Quennelle, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 196 pounds, plays primarily for the Winnipeg Bruins U18 AAA team this season. The Neepawa Titans, based at the Yellowhead Centre, have continued their own season, recently qualifying for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League playoffs for the third consecutive year.
