Families in Camrose, Alberta, have a new opportunity to help young children develop early reading skills through a free program starting this month. The Camrose Adult Learning Centre is hosting a literacy series called A World of Words for parents and children ages zero to five.
The program runs every Thursday morning from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, starting April 9, 2026, and continuing until May 28, 2026. Held at the centre, located at Unit 7-5000 51 Ave, the sessions use interactive activities such as stories, rhymes, and songs to encourage early language development.
Space in the program is limited, and registration is required to attend. Interested parents can sign up by calling the centre at 780-672-8754.
This initiative is supported by the Camrose & Area Family Resource Network, which works with local partners to provide services for area families. The Camrose Adult Learning Centre, also known as the Camrose & Area Adult Learning Council, receives funding through Alberta Advanced Education and Technology to offer various learning programs to the community.
