Families in Watson Lake are invited to gather at Wye Lake Park this Saturday, April 4, 2026, for a community Easter Egg Hunt. The event, which runs from noon to 3 p.m., will feature a variety of holiday-themed activities and prizes for local children.
The Town of Watson Lake Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the event. The department, which manages year-round recreation programming and maintains municipal trails, regularly uses the 26-hectare park for family-oriented gatherings such as Discovery Day Celebrations and Halloween Night.
Located in downtown Watson Lake, the park provides a scenic backdrop for the hunt, featuring a 2.5 km walking trail, a playground, and a gazebo. Residents with questions regarding the event can contact the Watson Lake Recreation Centre at 867-536-8020 or via email at [email protected].
This event takes place on the Saturday of the Easter weekend, following Good Friday on April 3 and preceding Easter Sunday on April 5. Other organizations across the territory are also marking the holiday, including the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, which is hosting an Easter event on the same day, and the City of Whitehorse, which planned activities for April 3.
Known as the Gateway to the Yukon, Watson Lake is home to approximately 1,133 residents and is famous for the Sign Post Forest, which contains more than 77,000 signs left by visitors from around the world.
