There is a 30 percent chance of showers this afternoon with a risk of a thunderstorm, and 60 percent chance of showers tonight.
The shower risk continues into mid-week, with Tuesday overnight and Wednesday night also holding a 60 percent chance of precipitation. The Weather Network shows a 70 percent probability of rain on Monday evening with about 1 mm expected, slightly higher than Environment Canada’s forecast. Residents should keep umbrellas handy and prepare for variable conditions through the next few days.
Temperatures will stay cool into Thursday, when the overnight low will drop to 0°C under clear skies. A rebound begins Friday, with a sunny high of 18°C, and Saturday will bring a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 22°C before Sunday continues the warmer trend.
This week’s forecast is typical for the late-summer shift into September in this subarctic community, which sees more precipitation than much of the Yukon due to its proximity to the Liard River valley.
