Residents of Colwood will soon have a new dining option as Five Guys is opening its first Vancouver Island location. The restaurant will be part of the new Arbutus Landing commercial hub at Royal Bay.
The announcement was confirmed by Colwood Coun. Ian Ward in late March 2026. The new location is expected to begin serving customers in late April 2026.
Arbutus Landing is a 42,000-square-foot development currently under construction. In addition to the burger chain, the hub will feature several other businesses, including Teriyaki Express, Firehouse Subs, Bosley’s, Rexall, a Pilates studio, and a nail salon. The overall site development is managed by Pacific Capital Real Estate Group, the developer behind the broader Royal Bay community.
The arrival of this restaurant marks the first time the chain has operated on Vancouver Island. The company currently has 73 locations across Canada and more than 1,900 worldwide.
The new commercial hub is designed to serve the growing population of the West Shore. Royal Bay now includes 1,000 residential units, with plans for 2,000 more over the next decade as the area continues to expand.
