The musical group Ensemble Vivant is set to bring a blend of classical works and Latin rhythms to Barrie on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The performance will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Bethel Community Church, located at 128 St. Vincent St.
Known as Canada’s Chamber Music Treasure, the group has been performing for over 30 years and has released 15 internationally broadcast recordings. The concert is part of the Georgian Music Sunday series organized by the Barrie Concert Association, a non-profit organization that has been active in the community since 1946.
The program features a diverse selection of music by composers including Bach, Schubert, and Piazzolla. The ensemble is led by founder and pianist Catherine Wilson, a performer who has appeared at Carnegie Hall and with various major North American orchestras. Guest vocalist Ismael Paris will also join the performance to sing selections from the Sackville Street Ballad.
This event is being promoted by Tourism Barrie as part of efforts to support cultural tourism in the region. Single tickets for the concert are available for purchase, with prices ranging from $10 to $40.
