The Town of Watson Lake Public Works Department will be conducting snowpack removal on Ravenhill Drive on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. This work is part of the municipality’s spring road maintenance program, which aims to improve safety and accessibility for residents following the winter season.
Residents living on Ravenhill Drive are asked to move their vehicles off the street to allow crews to work efficiently. Officials also request that residents avoid the area while equipment is in operation.
While the town manages clearing for main roads and municipal access routes, property owners are reminded of their responsibility to keep their driveways and entrances clear. Additionally, residents must ensure that nearby fire hydrants remain free of snow to maintain emergency access throughout the community.
The Watson Lake Sunshine community group shared the notice, noting that no disruptions to water or power services are expected during this time. The town’s general maintenance rules prohibit pushing snow onto public roads or obstructing municipal infrastructure like manholes and storm drains, as doing so may result in penalties.
Watson Lake, located at mile 635 on the Alaska Highway, experiences significant snowfall each year with an average annual accumulation of 197 centimetres. These seasonal removal operations are a necessary part of infrastructure maintenance during the spring, as temperatures begin to climb.
