The City of Beaumont has approved a two-year permit for a new storage building to support food bank donations at the Community Circle Thrift Centre. The new structure will be located at 102 5505 Magasin Avenue in the Chaleureuse-Commercial area to help manage incoming donations for the Leduc & District Food Bank.
The permit, issued by the city on March 23, 2026, allows for the installation of a storage building measuring approximately 10 feet by 22 feet. The structure is considered a small addition to the site, taking up less than one percent of the maximum allowed space for such buildings in the area.
This initiative supports the food bank as it continues to serve a growing population across seven municipalities, including Beaumont. As the city continues to expand, local resources like the thrift centre play a key role in collecting donations that assist residents in need.
Community members have until 4:30 p.m. on April 13, 2026, to file an appeal regarding the decision with the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. If no appeals are received by that time, the permit will officially become active on April 14, 2026, and remain valid until March 23, 2028.
