The Brandon General Museum and Archives is inviting residents to explore the historic building after dark as the Winnipeg Paranormal Group returns for a special investigation event on May 16, 2026. The event begins at 8 p.m. at the museum, located at 19 9th Street, Unit 101 in downtown Brandon, Manitoba.
The museum is housed in the former Manitoba Government Telephones Building, a three-storey brick and stone structure built between 1916 and 1917. This event, which serves as a fundraiser for the non-profit organization, allows participants to tour the historic site alongside experienced investigators to search for paranormal activity. The museum notes that these investigations are popular and regularly sell out.
Participants must be at least 16 years old to attend. While the volunteer investigators provide their own gear to examine the building, the museum welcomes attendees to bring their own equipment if they have it. The museum is governed by a board of directors that includes city councillors and community members, with Keith Waterfield serving as the Museum Administrator.
The museum and the City of Brandon are located on Treaty 2 territory, which serves as the traditional lands of the Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene, and Anishinaabeg peoples, and is the homeland of the Métis nation. Further details regarding tickets will be announced by the museum soon.
