The City of Beaumont is inviting local residents to celebrate the contributions of community members at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Event on April 23, 2026. The gathering will take place at the Beaumont Community Centre from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
This event falls during National Volunteer Week, which runs from April 19 to 25, 2026. Organized annually by Volunteer Canada, the week serves as a time to recognize the efforts of those who dedicate their time to non-profit programs and community initiatives. The 2026 theme, Ignite Volunteerism, encourages citizens to reconnect with their neighbours through service and mutual support.
The city has expanded this year’s event to include volunteers from across the community, acknowledging the work done by over 40 local organizations. These groups span a wide range of interests, including culture, education, sports, youth activities, and social services. This year holds added significance as the United Nations has declared 2026 the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development.
The appreciation event is free and open to all volunteers. While it is a drop-in style gathering featuring coffee and treats, the city recommends that attendees register in advance to assist with planning. Further information on the event and registration can be found on the City of Beaumont website.
