Drivers and pedestrians in Fort Saskatchewan should prepare for a temporary road closure near the Dow Centennial Centre from April 20 to April 24, 2026. The City of Fort Saskatchewan is closing a section of Town Crest Road to allow for the installation of a new storm pipe, which is part of the ongoing construction for the community’s new aquatics facility.
During this five-day period, there will be no vehicle or pedestrian access to the centre’s parking lot from Town Crest Road. The city advises residents to plan for temporary detours and to allow extra time when travelling to the area.
Despite the construction activity, the Dow Centennial Centre will remain open to the public. All recreation programs, fitness services, Shell Theatre performances, and facility rentals will continue as planned throughout the week.
The road closure is one of several infrastructure shifts expected throughout the spring and summer of 2026. Residents should be aware that parking availability on Town Crest Road may change, with some stalls temporarily closed or relocated, and that local transit routes and stops will be impacted as work progresses on new sanitary services.
