The Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound, Ontario, is offering creative day camps for children this June. These programs are designed to coincide with upcoming school breaks for students in the Bluewater District School Board.
The gallery is hosting two full-day sessions for children ages 8 to 12 on Friday, June 5, and Friday, June 26, 2026. Each session runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the gallery located at 840 1st Avenue West. The cost for each day is $60 per child, which is exempt from harmonized sales tax.
The June 5 camp, titled Growing Ideas: Nature, Art & Inspiration, will involve exploring gardens and plants. Participants will sketch native species and take part in mixed media and painting projects inspired by local artist Liz Zetlin. The June 26 session, titled Paint Like TOM & Play with Clay, will give children the opportunity to paint outdoors in the style of Tom Thomson and work on 3D clay sculptures.
Registration for these programs is currently open. Families can sign up through the official gallery website, by emailing Heather McLeese at [email protected], or by calling 519-376-1932.
These day camps serve as a preview for the gallery’s broader summer programming. The Camp TOM: Summer Art Adventures will run for seven weeks from July 6 through August 28, 2026, for children ages 8 to 12 at a cost of $295 per week.
