Residents in Beausejour can help support local students by grabbing a treat at the local Tim Hortons starting later this month. The annual Smile Cookie Week will take place from April 27 to May 3, 2026, with every cent from cookie sales at the 1050 Park Avenue location going directly toward scholarships and bursaries.
The campaign is organized by the Brokenhead River Community Foundation, a registered charity founded in 1998 that supports various initiatives throughout the Beausejour and Brokenhead area. All funds raised during this weeklong event are dedicated to helping local students pursue their post-secondary education goals.
The Tim Hortons in Beausejour is open 24 hours a day, providing plenty of opportunities for the community to participate. This event is part of a larger national effort that sees nearly 700 charities and community groups across Canada benefit from Smile Cookie sales in 2026. Since its inception in 1996, the national initiative has raised more than $151 million.
In addition to its work with student funding, the Brokenhead River Community Foundation manages a dedicated Beausejour Hospital and East Gate Lodge Fund. These specific funds are restricted and automatically flow to the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority to assist with healthcare services and equipment needs at the local hospital.
