The Parkland Chamber of Commerce in Dauphin, Manitoba, is currently accepting applications for a summer student to help organize community events. The position of Special Events Coordinator is open to applicants between the ages of 18 and 30 and is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
The successful candidate will earn $19 per hour during the 12 to 16-week term. Under the guidance of Executive Director Kamryn Winters, the student will play a central role in planning the 2026 Parkland Chamber of Commerce Street Fair and Dance. This flagship event takes place annually on the Thursday before the August long weekend and serves as the official kickoff to Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival.
The Chamber has a long history in the region, having been established in 1903 as the Dauphin Board of Trade. Today, the non-profit organization supports approximately 300 member businesses. The Street Fair and Dance, which has been a staple of the community for at least 18 years, relies on support from local business sponsors and the City of Dauphin to draw thousands of visitors to the downtown area.
