Students at Wetaskiwin Composite High School who are planning to walk in this year’s graduation ceremony must ensure their academic and administrative requirements are met by May 1, 2026. This deadline is essential for maintaining eligibility for the event, which is set to take place at Co-op Place on May 21, 2026.
To participate in the ceremony, students are required to have passing grades of 50 percent or higher in all necessary courses. These grades must be visible in the school’s online tracking system, PowerSchool, by the May 1 deadline. On this date, the school will post the final graduation list.
Beyond academic performance, students must also ensure that all school fee accounts are in good standing. Additionally, graduation gowns must be ordered and paid for to qualify for the ceremony. While some students may have their graduation fees covered by the Maskwacis Education Schools Commission (MESC), these funds do not cover the cost of ceremony tickets.
The school administration emphasizes that students who do not meet these requirements by the deadline will be removed from the graduation list and will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony. Doors at Co-op Place will open at 5:45 p.m. on the day of the event, with the ceremony beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Students or families with questions regarding graduation eligibility are encouraged to contact Ms. Kristi Paukstat at [email protected].
