The Downtown Grimsby BIA is inviting residents to celebrate the arrival of the new season with a free Spring Vendor Market on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The event will take place at Coronation Park, located on Elm Street in Grimsby, Ontario, offering a chance for the community to browse a variety of local crafts and unique goods.
Coronation Park, which was established in 1953, serves as a central gathering space in the town where the 40 Mile Creek meets Lake Ontario. The location is a frequent hub for community events, including the town’s music and farmers’ markets.
The upcoming market provides a local opportunity to support area merchants ahead of a major infrastructure project in the downtown core. The Town of Grimsby is set to begin the first phase of its downtown revitalization project on June 22, 2026. While that $9.1 million effort will bring changes to the streetscape, officials have confirmed that initial work will be focused outside the downtown core.
Due to the broader construction project, some community staples are adjusting their operations for the year. This includes the local farmers’ market, which will remain on Main Street for the first three weeks of June before moving to the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre for the remainder of the 2026 season.
