The Town of Tillsonburg is inviting residents to share their feedback on local recreation programs, services, and facilities through an online survey. The input collected will help guide the town’s future planning efforts as it prepares for a projected population increase in the coming decades.
The survey, which is hosted on SurveyMonkey, is open until the end of the day on May 14, 2026. Participation is encouraged for all residents and non-residents aged 16 and older who utilize town recreation services. Officials ask that each household complete only one survey to ensure accurate data collection.
Feedback gathered during this process will support the town’s Community Strategic Plan, specifically its focus on lifestyle and amenities. This plan, which was adopted in 2021, aims to guide long-term development across five key areas, including community growth and connectivity.
As the town looks toward the future, these insights are intended to help match recreation services with the needs of a growing community. According to the 2021 Canadian Census, the town had a population of 18,615, which is projected to nearly double to 39,300 by 2061. This effort follows recent local infrastructure investments, such as renovations to the Tillsonburg Community Centre aquatics wing and the Lake Lisgar Waterpark bathhouse, which received support from the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario.
The town council, led by Mayor Deb Gilvesy, will use the survey results to inform future decisions regarding parks, programs, and other community amenities.
