Residents of Quispamsis, New Brunswick, have the opportunity to cast their ballots early in the upcoming municipal election, with advance polls opening on Saturday, May 2, and Monday, May 4, 2026. Both polling sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., providing community members with flexibility before the official election day on Monday, May 11, 2026.
The 2026 municipal election marks a major leadership transition for the town. Incumbent Mayor Libby O’Hara, who has served in municipal leadership for 15 years, is not seeking re-election. With no other challengers in the race, Deputy Mayor Mary Schryer has been acclaimed as the new mayor.
While the mayoral position is settled, voters will still head to the polls to decide the composition of the town council. There are 12 candidates competing for the seven available at-large councillor seats.
For those unable to make it to the advance polls or election day, voting options remain available through the Elections NB returning office, located at the McCluskey Brothers Conference Centre at the qplex. Eligible voters may also utilize a mail-in special ballot.
