Residents of the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead will have a chance to safely dispose of specialized household waste during a community collection event on June 6, 2026. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the RM of Brokenhead Yard, located at 72013 Road 42E.
This free service allows community members to drop off materials that cannot be placed in regular trash, such as leftover paint and pesticides. The initiative is part of a provincial effort managed by the Product Care Association of Canada, which works to ensure hazardous household products are handled responsibly.
Proper disposal of these items is encouraged by municipal leadership, as the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead does not operate its own landfill. While the municipality shares a postal code and location with the Town of Beausejour, the two operate as independent local governments. Residents typically utilize external facilities for standard waste disposal, making these periodic collection events a key resource for the area.
The collection site at 72013 Road 42E also functions as the municipality’s permanent recycling depot. Residents can access the recycling depot Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout the rest of the year.
