Residents in the Amherst area can look forward to the return of the Cumberland County Exhibition, which will take place from August 31 through September 6, 2026. The week-long event will be held at the Cumberland County Exhibition Grounds, located at 56 Waverly Street in Oxford, Nova Scotia.
Operated by the Oxford Agriculture Society, the exhibition has been a local tradition since 1918. This year’s programming features a variety of agricultural activities, including livestock shows for cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and poultry. Attendees can also participate in 4-H Nova Scotia competitions, visit the petting zoo, enjoy carnival games, and watch the Heavy Horse Pull competition. Food vendors will be on-site throughout the week alongside various live entertainment options.
General admission for the event is $5 per person, while children under the age of five can enter for free. Those looking for adult-oriented entertainment can attend the Saturday Night Mud Stomp on September 5. This 19+ event begins at 9 PM and will feature a performance by DJ Dave. Tickets for the mud stomp are available for $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
