The County of Wetaskiwin Family and Community Support Services is offering two safety courses for local youth this July, providing residents with discounted access to important life skills training.
Supported by a funding partnership between the Government of Alberta and the municipality, these programs are designed to help young residents build confidence and safety awareness.
The Babysitting Course is open to youth aged 12 and older, or those turning 12 within six months of the course date. This session runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will take place on July 9 at the Wetaskiwin Agricultural Society and July 13 at Winfield Hall. The cost is $20 for County residents and $75 for non-residents.
For younger children aged 9 and older, a Home Alone Course is available from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The course takes place on July 10 in Wetaskiwin and July 14 in Winfield. The cost is $20 for County residents and $65 for non-residents.
Spaces for these sessions are limited. Parents interested in registering their children can sign up through the Confidence Courses website. For additional information or questions, residents can contact the local office at 780-352-3321 or via email at [email protected].
