Registration is now open for the BGC Wetaskiwin Summer Day Camps, giving working parents in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, a reliable childcare option while school is out. The licensed program runs weekdays from June 29 to August 21, 2026, for children who have completed kindergarten up to Grade 6.
The cost is $190 per week, and families can sign up for the weeks they need. For those who qualify, the Alberta Child Care Subsidy Program can help cover the cost. Families with a household income under $90,000 a year with children enrolled in a licensed program outside regular school hours may be eligible, and subsidy rates increase in July and August to help with the extra cost of full-day care.
During the summer, a family earning under $50,000 could get up to $644 a month toward the camp fees. That can make summer childcare much more affordable for local parents who need to work while their kids are on break.
To request a registration package, families can contact Montana Dey, the Out of School Care Program Coordinator, at [email protected] or call 780-352-4643 extension 117. The camps will be held at the Clubhouse at 4705-47 Avenue in Wetaskiwin, running from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each weekday.
BGC Wetaskiwin has been serving local families since 1988 and now supports more than 1,200 children, youth, and families each year across three locations in the city. The summer day camp program is part of its commitment to providing safe, fun activities and care for school-age children.
