The forecast calls for sunshine right through Thursday, with daytime highs rising day by day. Monday is expected to reach a sunny 21°C, followed by 22°C on Tuesday. The heat peaks on Wednesday and Thursday, when the mercury is forecast to hit 27°C. These temperatures are notably warmer than the normal maximum of 20°C for early June in the area.
As of 2:00 PM on Monday, conditions at Wiarton Airport, about 20 kilometres north of Hanover, showed mainly sunny skies and a temperature of 18.4°C, with northeast winds at 16 km/h. The stretch of clear weather actually began on Saturday, May 30, and is set to continue through June 4, giving residents six consecutive days of sunshine.
