Steinbach RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who walked out of a Highway 12 business with a laptop without paying on May 21, 2026.
Officers were called to the store around 6:20 p.m. Staff told police an unknown male left with the merchandise and did not pay. The suspect was captured on video surveillance, and investigators are now hoping someone recognizes him.
Anyone with information can call Steinbach RCMP at 204-326-1234. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, where calls are encrypted and never traced.
Highway 12 is Steinbach’s main commercial strip, home to Clearspring Centre and many other retailers. The city of about 50,000 people has faced ongoing property crime concerns, prompting council to hire private overnight patrols in 2025. That program was extended through 2026 at a cost of $145,000.
