Steinbach residents are invited to meet local firefighters, tour the fire hall, and learn about fire safety at the annual Steinbach Fire Hall Open House on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 6-8 PM at 477 Main Street.
The free event, announced by the City of Steinbach, is open to all ages and will feature activities, demonstrations, and an appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
The open house coincides with National Fire Prevention Week, held the second week of October each year. It provides a chance for families to see firefighting equipment up close and talk with the paid-on-call crew that responds to more than 300 incidents annually.
Accessibility supports are available upon request for those who need them to participate in the event.
The Steinbach Fire Department has a history dating back to the 1930s and is led by Fire Chief Kelvin Toews.
