Niverville parents looking for summer activities for young children can now register for a western-themed day camp running July 20 to 24, 2026. Niverville Recreation & Wellness is offering the “Into the Wild West” camp through its summer camp program based at the Community Resource and Recreation Centre at 501 Centre Street.

The camp is open to children ages three to six in the Kinder Camps program, and ages six to nine in the School Age Camps group. Each day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with before and after care available for an extra $25 per week. Three-year-olds can attend only the half-day morning session from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and all children must be fully potty trained.

Planned activities include panning for gold, a cattle round up obstacle course, a Cowboy Camp Cookout, line dancing, themed crafts and games, and a field trip. The program is part of Niverville Recreation’s summer camp season, which features eight different weekly themes this year.

Registration opened March 1, 2026 at 8:00 a.m., and is available online through the summer camps page. Teresa Mistelbacher, supervisor of camps and recreation programming for the Niverville Community Resource and Recreation Centre, encourages families to sign up while spaces remain.

Niverville is one of Manitoba’s fastest-growing communities. The 2021 census recorded a population of 5,947, a 29 percent jump from 2016. More recent local estimates place the population between 7,110 and 7,484, increasing demand for family programming.
