The Town of Cochrane’s Committee of Adjustment and Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board will hold public hearings on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue, Cochrane, Ontario. Residents can have their say on three planning applications that could change land use along Highway 652 and Concession 4&5.
Application B01-2026 seeks to sever a vacant property at 2307 Highway 652, creating a new 3.2-hectare industrial lot with 160 metres of frontage on the highway. The remaining 56.6 hectares would stay zoned for residential use. New access to the industrial lot would need approval from the Ministry of Transportation.
Application B02-2026 proposes a 37.27-hectare lot addition between two neighbouring properties on Concession 4&5. The owners of 1267 Concession 4&5 (M. Massicotte and C. Dubeault) would transfer the land to the owner of 1249 Concession 4&5 (L. Dubeault), growing that property from roughly 1 hectare to 38.08 hectares. No new lots would be created.
Both applications fall under Section 53 of the Ontario Planning Act, which requires public notice and a chance for residents to weigh in before decisions are made. Anyone wishing to participate must register by Monday, June 8, 2026, by emailing Elisabeth Vachon, Secretary-Treasurer of the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board, or calling 705-272-4361 ext. 239.
Full application details are available on the Town of Cochrane website. A third item, A04-2026, is also on the agenda.
