The City of Stratford has opened its only outdoor pool for the summer season on June 5, 2026. The Stratford Lions Pool, located at 15 William Street, is now welcoming swimmers with a pre-season schedule that runs through June 26.
During the pre-season, weekdays offer lengths swimming from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and open public swims from 6 to 8 p.m. On weekends, open swims are scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with lengths swimming from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The pool features a 25-metre, six-lane deep pool and a zero-depth beach-entry leisure pool with spray water features like geysers, dumping buckets, and rain showers, all heated to 28 degrees Celsius. Single swim admission is $4.25 for children, youth, seniors, and adults. A family swim costs $15, and children under two swim free. Season passes, ranging from $94 for kids to $295 for families, went on sale June 1.
Starting June 27, regular season hours begin, adding morning lengths, swim lessons, water fitness classes, and evening open swims through August 23. Water fitness classes run June 29 to August 23 on weekdays from 11 to 11:45 a.m. or 4 to 4:45 p.m. for $5.25 per class. Swim lesson registration opened in March, with four two-week sessions offered this summer.
Built by the Lions Club of Stratford and first opened in 1932, the pool has been a community gathering place for nearly a century. The city’s pools page notes the Lions Club turned operations over to the city in 1964. A major redevelopment in 2007 created the two-pool layout residents enjoy today.
