Hanover, Ontario is gearing up for a full day of family-friendly Canada Day celebrations at Town Park on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The free event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and offers live entertainment, activities for kids, and a chance to connect with local community groups. It is a second year of festivities at the park since the splash pad opened on the same holiday in 2025.
The day begins earlier with a Canada Day breakfast at the Hanover Curling Club from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 247 12th Street. Then the main event shifts to Town Park at 780 7th Avenue, where opening remarks will feature Mayor Sue Paterson, Town Crier Jennifer Olivero, and the Grey Bruce Singers performing O Canada.
Entertainment continues with children’s performer Rumple & Friends, local acoustic duo He Said She Said, and Dave & The Retros. Young attendees can enjoy inflatables, balloon twisting, temporary tattoos, and games, while The Deck Youth Centre hosts cookie decorating for kids aged 8 to 18.
The Rotary Club of Hanover will serve a barbecue with hot dogs, hamburgers, and smoked sausages, with support from food trucks including Funnel Cake Dreams and Lantz Kettlecorn. Families can also explore the park’s splash pad, disc golf course, and other amenities throughout the day.
More details are available on the town’s events page and the official Canada Day 2026 flyer.
