Registration is now open for a busy slate of summer recreation programs through Dauphin Recreation Services, giving families in Dauphin, Manitoba, a chance to book swimming lessons, day camp spots, and court time before spaces are gone.
The non-profit organization, jointly funded by the City of Dauphin and the Rural Municipality of Dauphin, has built its summer schedule around popular staples. Offerings include Adult Swimming Lessons, Summer Swimming Lessons for kids, and the return of Summer Kids Kamp, which runs from July 6 to August 28. Children must be entering kindergarten in the fall to take part in the day camp.
Outdoor court sports will get a boost at Meadowlark Park, where the multi-use community court is available for basketball and tennis. The park also features four dedicated tennis courts and a pair of beach volleyball courts, all open for drop-in play through the warmer months.
Swim programs are held at the Kin Aquatic Centre, a facility that accommodates up to 200 swimmers and includes a 25-metre pool, a water slide, and a 12-person hot tub. Lessons follow the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life curriculum, and adult classes are offered alongside fitness sessions in the water.
Community members are urged to register early. In past summers, both Kids Kamp and swimming lessons have filled quickly, sometimes leading to waitlists. Spots can be secured through the online registration system on the organization’s website.
