The Thompson Golf Club is rolling out its weekly Men’s Night for the 2026 season, giving golfers in Thompson, Manitoba a chance at friendly competition with cash prizes up for grabs. The program started on June 5 and runs throughout the summer, offering a social yet competitive setting just north of town on Highway 391.
Each Men’s Night tees off with a shotgun start at 6:00 p.m., followed by putting contests and longest drive competitions where cash prizes are handed out weekly. For the first time, a meal is included with the entry fee. Members pay $20 a week, while non-members pay $35, which covers both the round and the food.
The club, a 9-hole semi-private course that opened in 1967, sees the program as a way to bring the community together during the short northern golf season. General Manager Sharon Irvine helps oversee operations at the facility, which sits about three kilometres north of Thompson and features a clubhouse capable of hosting up to 72 guests.
Men’s Night is part of a broader lineup of weekly leagues at the course. A Ladies Night program runs on Tuesdays, also featuring themed events, putting contests, and cash prizes, though its start date for 2026 is still to be announced. The club hosts major tournaments through the summer, including the Men’s Open in July and the Club Championship in August.
With meals now mandatory and included in the cost, the club is hoping to draw a steady crowd each week. Tee times fill up quickly, so anyone interested is encouraged to book early by contacting the club directly.
