Chestermere is getting ready for its popular Summer Music Festival on August 9, 2026, and with it comes a list of closures residents and visitors need to know about. The free event runs from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM at John Peake Memorial Park, but the park itself, the nearby boat launch, and the Library Parking Lot will all be off-limits for the day.
Later in the evening, around 10:45 PM, a fireworks show will light up the sky from the north end of Chestermere Lake, weather permitting. During that time, stopping or parking on the Chestermere Boulevard bridge is not allowed, to keep things safe.
Since parking at the park is closed for the festival, the city is running free shuttle buses starting at 12:30 PM. Shuttles will loop hourly from three school parking lots: Our Lady of Wisdom School, East Lake School, and Chestermere Lake Middle School.
The summer festival has been a local favourite for years, once called the Water Festival before being rebranded around 2022 to focus on live music. Past events have drawn big crowds, and with an afternoon packed with music, food trucks, a kids zone, a marketplace, and a beer garden, this year looks to be no different.
