Chestermere families can start planning their summer activities as the Chestermere Public Library opens registration for its 2026 summer programs on Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 AM. The lineup includes reading challenges, workshops, and free courses for all ages.
The Summer Program Guide 2026 features the Summer Reading Challenge, running from June 20 to August 15. Open to adults, teens, children, and even library staff, the challenge has participants face off to become the top reading group. For kids ages 3 to 12, Summer Reading Club Workshops will offer weekly themed crafts, activities, and games throughout the season.
Teens and pre-teens can take advantage of free programs offered with the Trellis Society. The Home Alone course, for kids ages 10 and up, and a Babysitting Course for ages 12 and up are both available at no cost.
Registration is online only at the library’s website. Anyone needing help can call the library at (403) 272-9025. With spaces expected to fill quickly, residents are encouraged to sign up as soon as registration opens.
The summer reading program is made possible by local sponsors, including the TD Summer Reading Program, Booklynn.ink, Browns Socialhouse Chestermere, and Calaway Park.
