Rocky Mountain House is bringing back its open-air summer market on Main Street every Thursday evening from June 25 to August 27, 2026. The Marketplace on Main fills the top three blocks of 50th Street with artisan booths, fresh produce, food stalls, and live music from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., creating a regular gathering spot for residents and visitors.
This year marks the market’s 15th season, according to the Town of Rocky Mountain House. Economic Development Officer Jeff Hartling said past seasons have drawn anywhere from hundreds to nearly 2,000 people on fair-weather evenings. “It’s always a lot of fun and very engaging,” he told 94.5 Rewind Radio, noting that the market features a range of mobile food vendors and performers on the main stage.
Vendor registration opened May 1, with a full 10-week spot priced at $200 or single Thursdays at $25. Anyone interested can sign up at the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre’s guest services desk at 5332 50 Street or call 403-845-3720. Registration closes at noon on the Wednesday before each market, and vendors can begin setting up at 4:30 p.m.
The market has become a summer anchor for the town of about 8,000, surviving a pandemic-era shift to Curtis Field in 2020, when it was temporarily called Market on the Oval. The 2024 season’s opening night was rained out, but the rest of that season was described as a great summer overall. Organizers are hoping clear skies greet this year’s debut on June 25.
