The 13th annual Love Your Bike Festival returns to Guelph on Saturday, June 20, 2026, bringing free bike tune-ups, a flat-fixing contest, and storytelling to St. Andrew’s Church at the corner of Norfolk and Suffolk Streets. Running from 9:00 a.m. to noon, the free event is organized by the Guelph Community for Active Transportation (GCAT) and the Love Your Bike group, celebrating Bike Month and the city’s cycling culture.
The festival features a bike show with prizes in four categories: Vintage, Resto-Mod, Commuter/Cargo, and Kids. Local shops including Speed River Bicycle, Paramount Sports, Flow State Bike Co., and The Bike Lady will offer free mechanical checks. A highlight is the Wrench-Off flat-fixing competition, with an all-women lineup of Andrea Bidgood (Guelph’s Bicycle Mayor), Alison Stewart (Toronto’s Bicycle Mayor), Ward 6 Councillor Katherine Hauser, and Guelph MP Dominique O’Rourke.
The Guelph Guild of Storytellers will provide bike-themed tales, including a story time with Robert Munsch, the guild’s patron since 2022. After the rides, a barbecue with refreshments sponsored by Elora Brewing Company will be held at The Wooly Pub on Woolwich Street, a Guelph landmark for more than 30 years.
GCAT is looking for volunteers to help as marshals. Anyone interested can email [email protected]. The organization, founded in 2012 out of frustration over cycling funding, says 43 percent of Guelph residents cycle, with 130 kilometres of cycling network and 110 kilometres of off-road trails in the city.
