Isaac Beaulieu Memorial School in Sandy Bay First Nation is looking to fill a Summer Student Coordinator position, offering a summer job for local students or recent graduates. The role runs from June 29 to August 28, 2026, with work hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Applications, including a resume and cover letter, must be submitted to Human Resources by June 24, 2026.
The school, operated by Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation, serves students from Nursery to Grade 12. It was built in 1984 for 500 students, but enrolment was already double that number at the time of completion, leading to a second building being converted to handle over 1,000 learners. This summer job posting was shared on the Sandy Bay First Nation Facebook page.
The position may benefit from the federal First Nations and Inuit Youth Employment Strategy, which provides wage subsidies to help First Nations youth aged 15 to 30 gain work experience. More details on that program can be found through Indigenous Services Canada.
Sandy Bay First Nation has about 7,803 registered members, with around 4,336 living on-reserve. The community maintains strong ties to its heritage, with roughly 80 per cent of members speaking Ojibwe. The First Nation was also one of the first in Manitoba to take local control of its education, back in 1976.
