St. Paul is rolling out a full day of free, family-friendly fun for Canada Day on July 1, 2026, at the Recreation Centre grounds. The Town-organized celebration kicks off with a pancake breakfast and runs right through to fireworks at 11 p.m., with activities for all ages in between.
The day starts early with a pancake breakfast hosted by the St. Paul Legion from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 4925-49 Avenue, giving residents a chance to fuel up for the events ahead. From noon until 4 p.m., the Recreation Centre grounds at 4802-53 Street will be packed with entertainment and activities.
Afternoon highlights include a car show, magician Jordan Sabo, performances by Kehewin Native Dance Theatre and The Flo Warrior, and live country music from Second Son. Kids can enjoy bouncy houses, a petting zoo, roller skating (bring your own skates), bumper balls, balloon animals, arts and crafts, and a dunk tank hosted by the St. Paul & District Chamber of Commerce. Families can also take advantage of free admission to the St. Paul Museum and free sponsored movies at the Elite Theatre downtown.
As evening arrives, a fundraiser BBQ from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., put on by St. Paul Affordable Community Housing, will help support local housing efforts. Live music from Second Son keeps the energy going from 6 p.m. until the fireworks finale at roughly 11 p.m., with free coffee and donuts available at the Recreation Centre while supplies last.
The event has grown steadily in recent years, with attendance on the rise and last year’s vendor market setting a record. The Town continues to shape the celebration around community feedback, making it a true reflection of St. Paul’s spirit.
